Model Train Layouts

While some hobbyists enjoy their train sets without any context the more serious enthusiasts often build elaborate layouts for their trains. These layouts are often highly detailed, perhaps even reflecting a historical train location. The components of these layouts may be purchased whole, purchased as build it kits, or sometimes made from scratch.
Model train layouts have an advantage over some other hobbies in that they can be made one part at a time. A layout can be the accumulation of several years of work. Once the train is working the owner can enjoy the system, and just add to the layout as they have the time. It dones not have to be complete to be enjoyed.
Layouts often have buildings. These are not too difficult to create out of plywood, foam and other inexpensive materials. Some paint, some decals, and some distressing (to add the illusion of wear and age) make for a fairly realsitic looking building. we recommend some electric lights and moving parts to add further realism.

Scale Models Decals

Inject printer decals are perhaps the only way to add very fine details to scale models and layouts. While paint can be used for colouring larger surfaces, and perhaps for larger signs, it is impossible to use paint for neat, fine details. If we want to reproduce billboards, number plates, steet signs, advertisments, or markings on a train then we need to make decals.
Inkjet decal paper can be used with any modern printer and computer. Any graphic we create on the computer can be turned into a decal. And these add the fine details we need for scale model trains and their layouts.
